KERMEL®, HIGH TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS

Colmar, April 2011 – KERMEL, the European market leader in the manufacture of meta-aramid fibres for flame and heat resistant protective clothing, has launched high technological textile solutions:

- Industry: KERMEL has launched a new « KERMEL Denim », an innovative jeanswear, combining non-flammability, comfort and durability with a new design. It is dedicated to industrial workers working in high-risk environment: petrochemical industries, electrical and gas utilities.
Kermel® Denim meets the requirements of ASTMF-1506, CGSB 155.20 and of course NFPA 70E Class 2, IEC 61482-1-2, IEC 61482-1-1 and ISO 11612.

- Military and Public Order: the new « Kermel® Stretch  » fabrics, which are inherently non-flammable, offer comfort, thermal insulation, mechanical resistance and resistance to chemical products.

- Fire fighters: KERMEL has developed new French Kermel® stationwear and fire suits thanks to new design, materials, functionalities and technical performance.

- Technical uses: with innovative and high technology solutions, KERMEL focus on technical and industrial applications limited to high temperatures such as transports (aeronautics, train industries), electrical insulation with Kermel Insulright® paper, etc.
They provide maximal protection against high temperatures in very stringent environments, efficient protection against chemical agents and very good mechanical resistance.
The Kermel® range is available in different forms: fibres (long or short-staple), technical yarns, fabrics, knitwear, nonwovens, resins...

KERMEL® INSULRIGHT : laminates for thermal and electrical insulation

KERMEL has developed a high performance thermal and electrical insulating paper KERMEL INSULRIGHT with outstanding properties.

France, February 2011 - KERMEL INSULRIGHT has outstanding properties especially in environments submitted to high temperature constraints of about 180°C.

KERMEL INSULRIGHT is mainly dedicated to structures such as laminates which are composed of two layers of Kermel Insulright calendered paper, available in different thicknesses, and one layer of polyester or polyimide film as follows:

- KERMEL INSULRIGHT / polyester / KERMEL INSULRIGHT
- KERMEL INSULRIGHT / polyimide / KERMEL INSULRIGHT

KERMEL INSULRIGHT laminates are available in different forms : rolls, tapes, die-cuts, and in many thicknesses.

KERMEL INSULRIGHT laminates also have good mechanical properties such as good mechanical strength and elongation.
