Knits in KERMEL

Flame resistant Kermel fibre for underwear

Fire resistant knitwear in Kermel

Non flammable Kermel® fiber, well-known for its suppleness and its "textile" touch for an aramid fiber, is of course used in a very wide range of fire and flame resistant knits worn in direct contact with skin:

  • flash-hoods,
  • underwear,
  • functional knits, double sided (sweat evacuation),
  • polos,
  • t-shirts,
  • sweaters,
  • or any other knitted article.

Any knitting technology can be applied to yarns made out of fire and flame resistant Kermel® fibers, in 100% or in blends :
Kermel V50 (50% Kermel®, 50% Lenzing FR), Kermel V70 (70% Kermel®, 30% Lenzing FR) or Kermel / Wood / FR viscose.

For those applications, KERMEL recommends the use of its 1,1 dtex fine fiber. KERMEL is currently running wearer trials with its Kermel® micro 1,1 dtex fiber, offering increased comfort with lighter weights.
