Filtration

Kermel Tech fibre is mainly used for hot gas filtration.

New Kermel Tech aramid fibre

Chemical family: Aromatic polyimide-amide

Kermel Tech results from polycondensation of toluylene diisocyanate and trimellitic anhydride.

Thermal properties:

  • Continuous use temperature: 200 °C
  • Peak use temperature**: about 240°C
  • Glass transition temperature: 340 °C
  • Degradation temperature: > 450 °C
  • Limited Oxygen Index (LOI): 32 %

Mechanical properties
Kermel Tech fibre has an excellent resistance to abrasion thanks to its amorphous structure and its high elongation at break.

  • Tenacity: 25-35 cN/tex
  • Elongation at break: 30-35 %
  • Elasticity modulus: 200-300 cN/tex

Presentation

  • Count: 1,7* et 2,2 dtex ( * 1T mini. )
  • Cut length: 50, 60, 80 and 91/105/118 mm
  • Oiling ratio: 0,4 - 0,7 %

*retention of more than 50% of initial properties after 12 months
**retention of more than 50% of initial properties after one month
